TechExtension ("TechExtension", "we", "us" or "our") builds and supports AsterCTI, a computer telephony integration (CTI) platform that connects Asterisk-based phone systems to CRM software. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the AsterCTI website (astercti.techextension.com), the Customer Portal, our support channels and related communications, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to visitors of this website, people who request a demo or contact our sales or support teams, and customers who use the AsterCTI Customer Portal, Helpdesk or licensed software. It does not apply to information handled inside a customer's own CRM or PBX systems, which remain under that customer's control.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide directly. When you submit the "Request a Demo" form, the Contact page, a Helpdesk ticket, or create a Customer Portal account, we collect details such as your name, work email address, company, current CRM, and any message or notes you include.
- Account and support information. If you create a Customer Portal account, we store your login credentials (your password is stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), order and subscription history, and the content of support tickets and replies you exchange with our team.
- Payment information. Installation fees and renewal payments can be made through PayPal, Wise, or direct bank transfer, as described on our Pricing page. For PayPal payments, we receive confirmation of payment and order details from PayPal and do not collect or store your full card number on our own servers. Wise and bank transfer payments are arranged by invoice and settled directly between you and your bank or Wise; we do not process or store your bank account credentials.
- Communications. If you email us, chat with us, or message us on WhatsApp, we keep a record of that conversation so we can respond and maintain support history.
- Spam and bot protection. Our Contact form and Customer Portal signup use Google reCAPTCHA v3, which assesses submissions for automated/bot activity. Google processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and interactions on the page) to provide this assessment, under Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Usage and analytics information. Like most websites, we automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and referring pages, through Google Analytics (GA4) and standard web server logs.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies that let the site and Customer Portal function correctly, including keeping you signed in to your account.
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (GA4) that help us understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve content, navigation and page performance.
- Chat and messaging cookies set by our Tawk.to live chat widget when you open a chat session, so the conversation can continue across page views.
- Bot-protection cookies set by Google reCAPTCHA v3 on the Contact form and Customer Portal signup page, used to help distinguish legitimate submissions from automated ones.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site or Customer Portal, such as staying logged in, from working correctly.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to demo requests, sales inquiries and support tickets;
- Provide, maintain and secure the AsterCTI Customer Portal and Helpdesk;
- Process installation and renewal payments and send related invoices and confirmations;
- Send service-related communications, such as order confirmations, ticket updates or renewal reminders;
- Understand how the website is used, using aggregated analytics, so we can improve it; and
- Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues affecting our website or systems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the details you share with us to serve third-party advertising.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only where necessary to operate our business:
- Service providers that support our operations, such as PayPal (payment processing), Tawk.to (live chat), Google reCAPTCHA (bot/spam protection on forms), our email delivery provider, and our hosting provider. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing purposes.
- Google Analytics (GA4), which processes analytics data under Google's own privacy terms.
- Legal and safety reasons, if we are required to disclose information to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TechExtension, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers, if TechExtension is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy — for example, for the duration of a customer relationship plus a reasonable period afterward for accounting, support history and legal purposes, or until a demo/contact inquiry is resolved and no longer needs follow-up. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information involved, including transmitting the website and Customer Portal over HTTPS, hashing account passwords rather than storing them in plain text, using parameterized database queries to guard against common attacks, and restricting access to customer and support data to personnel who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Security page for more detail on our approach.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also opt out of non-essential marketing or reminder emails by using the unsubscribe link where provided, or by contacting us directly. 8. Third-Party Links and Services
The AsterCTI website may link to, or embed, third-party services such as PayPal, Tawk.to, WhatsApp, Google reCAPTCHA, and content delivery networks used to load fonts, styling and scripts. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
9. Children's Privacy
AsterCTI and this website are intended for business use and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or our services after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
